Richard Cowell began his career by completing an apprenticeship at one of the largest silversmiths in the heart of Hatton Garden, learning traditional trade skills, before being admitted as a Freeman of the City of London. After this he went on to work with two of the finest goldsmiths in the country, where he acquired new skills making jewellery and small intricate boxes. Richard returned to London and worked for many years at Asprey of Bond Street and Garrard the Crown Jeweller, culminating in managing one of the most prestigious workshops in London’s jewellery quarter.

Richard now pursues his own artistic direction. His time spent in these workshops allow him to draw on a wealth of experience, to create objects with traditional skills, handed down through time. However, his own fresh and dynamic approach gives the perfect balance to modern pieces that will become antiques of the future.
